Official announcement for World of Warships from Wargaming, published on Steam on October 13, 2026.
Soviet battleship Rodina, Tier X
Rodina is based on Project 23bis, designed in 1939 as a planned improved version of the Sovetsky Soyuz-class of battleships, focusing on additional firepower and protection by increasing the main battery to twelve 406mm guns, with a corresponding increase in displacement. Efforts to improve the Sovetsky Soyuz class continued into Project 23NU, which was delayed by the German invasion of the Soviet Union, and would ultimately culminate in the postwar Project 24 series of battleship designs. Her name comes from the Russian word for "Motherland."
Gameplay features:
- Heavy twelve-gun salvo
- Good ballistics
- Decent accuracy
- Good armor when angled
- Poor concealment
- Poor maneuverability
- Long reload time
Rodina is a comfortable all-rounder for anyone who wants a solid Tier X battleship that can adapt to most situations. Unlike the other Soviet battleships, which prefer an aggressive short-range push, she plays much closer to the American line. Think of her as a Soviet Montana: twelve 406mm guns with faster shells, similar accuracy, and comparable toughness, in exchange for a slightly softer citadel, worse concealment, and, while accuracy is similar, Rodina has no access to the Artillery Plotting Room Modification 2 upgrade. Her guns have great ballistics and a good base range, though the reload is a little longer than average.
