orbs, orbs everywhere. i have a pile of currency and no idea what to use it on. is there a simple way to start crafting without wasting everything

simple version: transmutation makes a normal item magic (blue), augmentation adds a mod to a blue, regal turns a blue into a rare (yellow) and adds a mod, exalt adds a mod to a rare. thats the basic chain

dont craft on bad bases. look for good item level first
